Mode 4

Search for a keyword among log metadata.

That is the finest mode because it makes full use of software's technology and implies the editing function which will be described in the following paragraph. In any case you must take in account that all combinations of the previous procedures shall remain valid. In addition, other search parameters can be added , such as :

  • Specific date or time range

  • Title

  • Details

  • User

  • Rating

  • Mime type

For example, we will search all the valorizations (namely log descriptions) carried out by the user “ale” inside the Project “Girato_Ganzirri-14-06-2016 sony_stefano” in the Folder SALAMARE.

In that way, we are not searching a specific word; we just want to see editing work made by “ale” inside that Project. To do this, we have to select “ale” from the drop-down menu in the search field “Log metadata”. (picture 12)

By clicking on the Search button, this will be the result:

In detail:

That resulting list consists of all the occurrences on which user “ale” has made changes in log to the clips (punctual valorization activities, namely measurement of an In and an Out ). When we search through the field “Log metadata” as in this case , we can see that in addition to the usual results (those ones on grey background in the middle column setting out the main description) some others will appear (on yellow background, in which there are descriptions introduced on specific portions of the clips).

In detail:

We are used to the grey part, namely description of the clip. On yellow background there is a field which shows that the clip has an internal cut (“In” and “Out”) with its description (Titolo) and details (Dettagli), moreover, there is an indication of Rating (3) on a scale from 1 to 5; finally in the last space there is the name of the user who has made the internal cut (“ale”).

Once we understand how that parameters work and the general functioning of the software, we can exploit the sophistication of that search mode.
